New Asia

Sunday brunch, we - a few friends from work - gathered at New Asia in China Town for dimsum. it's a huge place and there's a line to get in but the wait was not so bad - about 10 minutes for us.
the place is bright with huge chandeliers, we went upstairs for out table. the table cloth was stained with soysauce and what not (hopefully it is a sign of authentic food??? like my friends said) and the unsavoring stains were quickly covered up with white paper placemat.
the dumplings were good and big, i don't thing i ever had any dim sum dumplings this big! my chinese friend said it's "old school" dim sum.
sticky rice in grape leaves

shrimp dumplings (ha cao)

sesame ball with sweet bean

shanghai dumplings

mustard green (cai lan) with oyster sauce

they were all good, i was kind of turned off by the stained table cloth but my friends told me that's the sign of good authentic food. next dim sum outing we will have to try a new place since there are so many in the city...
